Chalk rubbing:  Chinese ink on calligraphy practice paper

Recently in Kent when the flints I was trying to take rubbings from were so sharp my paper was ripping I tried to do a rubbing of chalk. Having previously dismissed chalk as not very interesting for frottage I was humbled to realise not only was it interesting was as rubbing material it was very interesting as a surface for frottage . So much for being aware of investigating the often overlooked and unnoticed...a wake up call.
